Little C’s Design Team Weekly Challenge #2

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I have just been accepted into Little C’s Design Team!! Woooot! My first designing gig!

Little C’s owner Jen asked us to use this sketch from Juliee Tilman’s Poetic Artistry blog, and use a Whipper Snapper stamp (that you can purchase at Little C’s, btw). Since I’m still waiting for my design package of goodies from Jen, I used papers and embellishments already in my stash:

Tuxedo Kitten

Stamps: Tuxedo Kitten, Fuzzy Mouse by Whipper Snapper, Sentiment by Hero Arts
Others: Silhouette level 2 paper pack by Close To My Heart, ribbon, Just Blooms paper flower, big brad from Close To My Heart, die cuts by Sizzix

Check out what the other design team members made:

or you can click on their links to the right, under Little C’s Design Team.

And my family and I have recently gone to the Hilton Waikoloa on the Big Island of Hawaii.

See me? The feet, lol.

Hero Arts and CTMH Card

Friday, July 27th, 2007

J’s Knicknacks has a ton of cool stuff, and I had purchased this Hero Arts stamp set earlier, but never had a chance to use it. Since there was this leftover flower from my last card, I figured I could put them together:

Hero Arts and CTMH

Stamp sets: Playful Petals (Close To My Heart), Borders and sentiment (Hero Arts)
Inks: Chocolate, Brown Bag, Pink Carnation (Close To My Heart)
Cardstock: Pink Carnation (Close To My Heart)
Other: Sparkles (Close To My Heart)

Hmmm…not bad, even if I do say so myself!

Hero Arts Graphic Patterns

Monday, July 16th, 2007

I love Hero Arts stamps, especially the shadow and background stamps. Hero Arts was the first stamp company I fell in love with, way back in…in… 1977? I can’t remember when I purchased my first stamp. It’s a sign of getting old.

I purchased the Graphic Patterns stamp set from J’s Knicknacks recently, and I’m really pleased with how it turned out:

Graphic Patterns, originally uploaded by clockwork_vault.

Stamp set: Graphic Patterns (Hero Arts)
Inks: Hydrangea (Close To My Heart)
Papers: Topiary textured cardstock, Hydrangea, Watermelon, Bubblegum, Sunny Yellow cardstock (Close To My Heart)
Other: Flower die cut (Sizzix)

If you do go and visit J’s Knicknacks, remember to park behind the black Honda!

Happy Birthday to my niece and nephew in Washington, who turn 12 today! Using some new stamps I got from J’s Knicknacks, I made this card for N:

Alternate Idea

Saturday, May 5th, 2007

I had some leftover pieces from Cassidy’s birthday card, so I just created this using the scraps:

FriendshipBlessings01

Stamp sets: Friendship Blessings, Smitten (Close To My Heart), Be Happy Every Day (Hero Arts)
Inks: Heavenly Blue, Crystal Blue, Watermelon (Close To My Heart)
Cardstock: Taffy, Sweet Leaf, Bubblegum, White Daisy, Black (Close To My Heart)
Other: Silver My Accents (Close To My Heart), embossing folder (ProvoCraft’s Cuttlebug)

While posting this, I’m listening to U + Ur Hand by P!nk. What an attitude that lady has! I like it…

Sympathy Cards

Friday, April 20th, 2007

A friend at work requested a couple of sympathy cards. Although Loving Memories by Stampin’ Up! is retired, it is the only sympathy set I feel comfortable using. Here are the cards:

LovingMemories02

Stamp sets: Loving Memories (Stampin’ Up!), Spring Leaves and Air Mail (Close To My Heart)
Inks: Goldrush, Olive, Desert Sand, Cocoa (all Close To My Heart)
Papers: Goldrush, Olive, Desert Sand, Cocoa, Colonial White cardstock (all Close To My Heart)
Other: Sandpaper

LovingMemories01

Stamp sets: Loving Memories (Stampin’ Up!), Wildflowers (Hero Arts)
Inks: Outdoor Denim (Close To My Heart), ColorBox Fluid Chalk ink pads
Papers: Colonial White, Olive, Outdoor Denim Textured cardstock (Close To My Heart), mulberry paper

I always get an uncomfortable feeling when making sympathy cards. No one likes to think of dying. Especially after the Virginia Tech tragedies…I can only imagine what the families and the community must be going through. My heart goes out to them.
