Here’s another baby quilt!

I used the AccuQuilt Go! along with the die that came with the machine. I’m telling you, triangles have never been so easy. Now I’m really spoiled. I think I need ALL the triangle dies. ack.

The backing was on sale at Hancock’s of Paducah. I always go nuts looking at fabric that is 40% off (or more). It has only recently occurred to me that I should buy large quantities of the sale fabrics just for backing.

Here it is spread out over my dining room table. I’m not into table runners, but it sure looks good on that table. Maybe I’ll try making a table runner – someday. Oh, who am I kidding? My table has too much stuff on it. No one would even see the table runner under there.

And Mittens says,

“Morning strrrrrrrrrrrrrretch! Okay, back to sleep.”

Finished! This went so quick!! Normally I stress out about the weird angles, but the AccuQuilt Go! made it soooo easy. The fabrics are from Free Spirit fabrics, the Chocolate Lollipop line:

The backing was a large remnant that I picked up from my local fabric shop. It was just a tad too short, so I added that little bit of solid on the bottom. I even got that little piece of solid fabric from the remnants section!

And doesn’t Mittens look like those fake pets they sell? I should buy a dozen of them and just put them up on top the cupboards:

My wonderful hubby said, “Go ahead and get it,” so I did! The AccuQuilt cutter, woooot! My daughter watched me slicing up some scraps, and said, “Mom, it’s just like a big Cuttlebug.” Yes, it is! And I love that Cuttlebug machine a lot, too.

I had purchased a ton of fabric on sale from the Chocolate Lollipop line, and just stuffed them away wondering what I was going to do with them. This is perfect! My test quilt for this tumbler shape. One crank of that handle cuts through SIX layers, and I don’t have to worry about measuring that weird angle properly.

I purposely avoided quilts with angles because it’s difficult to cut and sew. Well not anymore! I cut 144 pieces in just part of an evening. The rest of the evening was filled with Guitar Hero – I ROCK! lol

It’s hard to see, but the corners of each piece have been shaped so that when you sew the pieces together, they line up perfectly. The hardest part for me sewing angles is that when I open my quilt block back up, the edges don’t line up at all. But check this out – I sewed one row together, pressed the seams, and it’s perfectly aligned! For all the non-quilters out there, this is truly an amazing thing!!

This quilt is going to come together FAST. I can feel it.
