Heartfelt Treasures Card

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

I know it’s a bit early for Mother’s Day, but if I don’t do this now, it might never get done!

Heartfelt Treasures card
All items from Close To My Heart unless noted otherwise:
Stamp sets: Heartfelt Treasures, Tag the Occassion
Inks: Blush, Hollyhock, Sunflower, Pear, Cocoa, Brown Bag
Papers: Sophia level 1 paper pack, White Daisy and Brown Bag cardstock
Other: Blending pen, Marvy circle punches, CTMH circle punch, Nestabilities scalloped square die, Bitty Sparkles

The flower outline wouldn’t stamp straight over the back image. There were a bunch of white gaps! So I got a blending pen, picked up some of the Hollyhock ink, and just filled it in. If you look closely at the above image, you can see where it got “blended”.

A closeup of the Bitty Sparkles:

And Wesley says, “Who wants some of this stringy fabric?”

Happy Holidays Treat Bag

Sunday, April 10th, 2011

Hey, I didn’t know they made M&Ms with dark chocolate! I had to try some, as well as the regular milk chocolate M&Ms. A bunch of these treat bags were made so that I wouldn’t eat two entire 12 oz. sacks by myself:

All items from Close To My Heart unless noted otherwise:
Stamp set: Happy Holidays
Inks: Chocolate, Spring Iris
Papers: Daydream level 2 paper pack and White Daisy cardstock
Other: Nestabilities Dahlia die, circle punch, organdy ribbon, M&M’s

And guess what? I can’t tell the difference between the dark and milk chocolate M&Ms. Can you?

One of a Kind Card

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

I must have at least 20 pounds of retired CTMH papers. I’d sell it on Ebay if I could ship it cheaply, but USPS Priority Mail from Hawaii is NOT cheap for that weight. And 12×12 paper doesn’t fit nicely into any Flat Rate boxes. I dare not send it by a cheaper method because if the destination is not Hawaii, it may never get there. * sigh *

In my feeble attempt to use up some retired papers, this card was created:
One Of A Kind Card
All items from Close To My Heart unless noted otherwise:
Stamp sets: One of a Kind
Inks: Moonstruck, Clover Meadow (retired)
Papers: Autumn B&T Combo pack (retired), Colonial White cardstock
Other: Nestabilites scalloped circle die, Summer craft buttons (retired)

At least I got to use up some retired buttons, too!

The quilt top from the Postage Stamp Quilt Along is done:

Now I just need to make the backing, quilt it, then bind it. More quilts, coming soon!

Affection card

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

So…I had just one night to come up with 3 cards for my card club. This is the second one. The copying continues!

Circle Of Love Card

Monday, December 27th, 2010

The Circle of Love stamp set is beautiful, but I keep wondering how much I’m going to use this peacock image. I think I’ll end up using the flourishes more often.

Circle Of Love
All items from Close To My Heart unless noted otherwise:
Stamp sets: Circle of Love, Friendship Blessings
Inks: Black, Chocolate, Sky, Lagoon, Pacifica
Papers: Magnifique level 2 paper pack
Other: Nestabilites oval and scalloped oval dies

The different colors don’t stand out so much in the photo. There is a nice blend of colors throughout the peacock. And I am infatuated with the Glitz glitter glue:

We recently got to go to Las Vegas just before xmas. It rained the whole time. Rain in the desert! My daughter requested a special trip to M&Ms World:

Hope you had a merry Christmas and are planning to party for the new year!

Happy Birthday Card

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

This past weekend, I just met the nicest bunch of gals! I wasn’t sure how much they knew about CTMH, so I just had a simple card for them to make:

Happy Holidays Card
All items from Close To My Heart unless stated otherwise
Stamp sets: Happy Birthday, Happy Holidays, Connections
Inks: Desert Sand, Pear, Smoothie
Papers: Olivia level 2 paper pack
Other: Liquid Glass, Prisma Glitter, Nestabilites circle and scalloped circle die, deckle edged scissors

It turns out, they knew a LOT about stamping. Some of them had been meeting regularly for fifteen years!! Whoa!
Happy Holidays - Close up

And other news: My friend Lisa stopped by to visit on her way back to Washington from China. She has her own Stamp Happy blog – go and check it out. Thanks for coming to see me Lisa! We were able to sneak in a photo of us in my sewing cave downstairs.

And Jax says,
Jean, Lisa, and Jax!
“Say chee…Hey is that a gecko?”

Happy Holidays for Baby Boy

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

Here’s the baby boy version of yesterday’s card, using the same sketch, paper pack, and ink colors. I’ve always loved the Creative Basics paper collections, but so far, this one is my favorite. See yesterday’s post for the Baby Girl version.

Happy Holidays
All items from Close To My Heart unless stated otherwise:
Stamp sets: Happy Holidays, Sweet Baby
Inks: Chocolate, Sweet Leaf, Hollyhock, Crystal Blue
Papers: Cherry-O Creative Basics collection
Other: Cocoa designer ribbon, Nestabilities oval and scalloped oval dies

Can you spot all the cat toys in this picture? And what does Mittens choose to do? Lie in the box.

And Mittens says,

Happy Holidays for Baby Girl

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

All those little circles in CTMH’s Happy Holidays set attract me, like little round magnets stuck to the fridge. I scanned a ton card patterns on the Mojo Monday Sketch Blog, and found one that would work perfectly:

Stamp sets: Happy Holidays, Sweet Baby
Papers: Cherry-O Creative Basics collection
Inks: Hollyhock, Crystal Blue, Chocolate, Sweet Leaf
Other: Hollyhock twill ribbon, Nestabilities oval and scalloped oval dies

Fruitful Delight

Friday, August 13th, 2010

I love fruit stamps! This one looks so elegant, I wasn’t sure I would do the stamp set justice. I’m not exactly the “elegant” type of stamper. How do you think it turned out?

Fruitful Delight
All items from Close To My Heart unless specified otherwise:
Stamp sets: Fruitful Delight, Thank You
Inks: Black, Brown Bag, Cocoa, Copic markers
Papers: Passages level 2 paper pack
Other: Nestabilities circle and scalloped circle dies, Twill ribbon

And Mittens says,
