You Rock, Matthew!

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

The last kid’s birthday card! At least for now. Happy Birthday Matthew! This is one of those stamp sets that I’ve used a lot but never did any card club cards with. I’m not sure if my club ladies are really into this sort of thing… Ladies, please correct me if I’m wrong.

You Rock Card
All items by Close To My Heart unless noted otherwise:
Stamp set: You Rock
Papers: You Rock level 2 paper pack
Inks: Chocolate, Olive, Creme Brulee, Tulip
Other: Pewter Big Brads

Here’s my next project. It was too small to put on the quilting frame, so I took the machine off the frame and quilted it separately. When was the last time I machine quilted this way? I can’t remember.

I’ll have a photo of the completed product soon!

Forever In Love for Nicole

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

Another little kid’s birthday card! This is for a little girl that told me that my son is HER boyfriend and she’s going to marry him. I told her to go for it! Don’t you just love 4-year-olds?

Sweet Scoops for Erin

Sunday, May 1st, 2011

Here’s a birthday card for a little girl that doesn’t necessarily like the usual “girly” things. I figured, what kid doesn’t like ice cream? Happy Birthday Erin!!

Sweet Scoops Card
Stamp set: Sweet Scoops by Stampin’ Up!
Inks: Black, Brown Bag, Buttercup, Blush, Chocolate by Close To My Heart
Papers: Tinkerin’ Level 2 paper pack by Close To My Heart

Here’s the close-up. You can see how the Glitz actually pushed away some of the ink underneath it:

And Kit says,
Kit will NOT look
“I will NOT look at the camera.”

Happy Easter everyone! Here’s a quick 3″ x 3″ card using the Hope for Japan stamp set:

And no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t caption this photo:
Is it just me, or is this photo too weird to caption? Jax is in a laundry hamper wrapped with a red pom pom blanket. Any suggestions? Please help me caption this and put your suggestions in the comments!!

Bunny Love card

Saturday, April 16th, 2011

I have had the Bunny Love stamp set for at least a year, and only used it JUST NOW. Ha! It is primarily for Easter, but there is this one image that can be used for any occassion:

Bunny Love card
All items from Close To My Heart unless noted otherwise:
Stamp sets: Bunny Love, Connections, Togetherness
Inks: Sorbet, Pear, Sky, Creme Brulee, Black
Papers: White Daisy and Sky cardstock
Other: Copic markers, designer ribbon, mini brads, Marvy scalloped square punch, corner rounder

You know, there are more stamps that I have had for a long time but never used…maybe I should count them. Or not. It might stress me out to think I have soooo many unused stamps. So the world will never know! *evil laughter – bwah ha ha ha!!*

And Jax says,
“Why are you making that weird laughing noise?”

Heartfelt Treasures Card

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

I know it’s a bit early for Mother’s Day, but if I don’t do this now, it might never get done!

Heartfelt Treasures card
All items from Close To My Heart unless noted otherwise:
Stamp sets: Heartfelt Treasures, Tag the Occassion
Inks: Blush, Hollyhock, Sunflower, Pear, Cocoa, Brown Bag
Papers: Sophia level 1 paper pack, White Daisy and Brown Bag cardstock
Other: Blending pen, Marvy circle punches, CTMH circle punch, Nestabilities scalloped square die, Bitty Sparkles

The flower outline wouldn’t stamp straight over the back image. There were a bunch of white gaps! So I got a blending pen, picked up some of the Hollyhock ink, and just filled it in. If you look closely at the above image, you can see where it got “blended”.

A closeup of the Bitty Sparkles:

And Wesley says, “Who wants some of this stringy fabric?”

And Mittens says,

Happy Holidays Treat Bag

Sunday, April 10th, 2011

Hey, I didn’t know they made M&Ms with dark chocolate! I had to try some, as well as the regular milk chocolate M&Ms. A bunch of these treat bags were made so that I wouldn’t eat two entire 12 oz. sacks by myself:

Stamp set: Happy Holidays
Inks: Chocolate, Spring Iris
Papers: Daydream level 2 paper pack and White Daisy cardstock

And guess what? I can’t tell the difference between the dark and milk chocolate M&Ms. Can you?

Blessed Card

Friday, April 8th, 2011

The April stamp of the month reminded me of delicate flowers, so I wanted to have a nice soft look. First I tried white embossing powder with ink sponged over it:

Hmmm, not exactly what I was looking for. Next I tried Grey Wool ink with the blender pen:

STILL not what I was looking for. How about VersaMark with chalk?

Yes yes YES! The final card:
