Tranquility Quilt
Thursday, December 10th, 2009I used two “layer cakes” (a stack of 40 different fabrics, cut into 10″ x 10″ squares) to make this quilt. The fabric line is called “Tranquility” by Moda fabrics. I was inspired by this quilt top made with “Nest” fabrics.
I really like the simple pattern and coordinating fall colors. I had a few extra squares, so they got incorporated into the backing. Here’s Chelsea on a chair peeking over the top:
This one was completed between my son’s high school play and my daughter’s middle school play. I helping with their costumes, but I have no clue how to sew clothing. My role was to do mostly handstitching, which was fine by me! A closeup:
This was my first quilt with Warm and Natural batting, and I LIKE IT. I need to buy a bunch of this stuff when it goes on sale.
